Tt’Shaylah Lightbourn is a dedicated and inspiring faculty member at Ballet Florida, bringing her expertise in contemporary ballet, modern, and Afro-Caribbean dance to her teaching. A Miami-born artist with Haitian and Bahamian roots, Tt’Shaylah draws from her rich cultural background and extensive professional experience to create a learning environment that is both technically rigorous and artistically enriching.
Having trained under renowned mentors such as Peter London, Ricardo Dume, and Lindsay Renea, Tt’Shaylah combines precision and creativity in her teaching approach. Her career has taken her to iconic venues like the Adrienne Arsht Center, the Miami Beach Botanical Garden, and The Betsy Hotel during Art Basel, as well as international stages in Trinidad and Martinique.
As a faculty member, Tt’Shaylah is passionate about mentoring the next generation of dancers, emphasizing the importance of discipline, artistry, and cultural appreciation in their training. She brings vibrant energy and a wealth of knowledge to Ballet Florida, enriching her students’ journeys with her unique perspective and dedication to the art of dance.
